Merits of reciting the Sūrah
Whoever recites Sūrat Hā Mim ‘Ayn Sīn Qāf will be from those on whom the angels send blessings and seek forgiveness and mercy for him – Holy Prophet a
Note: Quranic Scholars say that the reward is connected to the contents of the Sūrah and requires that recitation be done with awareness, comprehension, reflection and having an intention of implementation.
General synopsis of contents
1) A discussion on revelation. This is the main theme of the Sūrah and can be seen in its beginning and end, as well as verses in between.
2) Signs of Allah in creation.
3) Day of Judgment and the Hereafter.
4) Noble qualities of those who believe (vv. 36-43)
Selected Lessons
1) The angels seek forgiveness for human beings (see v. 5)
2) Dictates of religion were sent to past Prophets as well as to the Holy Prophet a.
3) Steadfastness is required in religion (see v. 15)
4) The only reward the Prophet a asked for was love for the relatives (see v. 23)
5) Allah accepts the repentance of His servants and pardons their wrongdoings (see v.25)

Suggested verses for reflection and memorization.
1) 42:23 – Say, ‘I do not ask you any reward for it except love of [my] relatives.’
2) 42:25 – It is He who accepts the repentance of His servants and excuses their misdeeds and knows what you do.
3) 42:36 – Whatever you have been given is a provision of this world’s life, and what is
with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and rely on their Lord.
