A coherent worldview begins by asking not only what we believe, but how we know what is true. This long-term program offers a systematic study of the Islamic worldview through rational inquiry, philosophical reflection, and the rich intellectual tradition of Islam.
Inspired primarily by the contemporary Farsi works Bee-Nehāyat and Ṭarḥ-e Wilāyat, the curriculum is rooted in classical Islamic theology (ʿaqāʾid) while drawing upon philosophy, logic, and spirituality. Although these works engage profound intellectual themes, the course is designed to be fully accessible—no prior background in philosophy, theology, or mysticism is required.
Module One: Epistemology (5 Sessions)
The program begins with a five-session introduction to epistemology—the study of knowledge. Before examining the existence of God or the principles of faith, we must first understand how knowledge is acquired, evaluated, and justified. This is module one of a series in Foundations of the Islamic Worldview.
Through guided discussion and rational analysis, we will explore questions such as:
What are the sources of knowledge in Islam?
Can reason, the senses, and revelation each provide certainty?
What distinguishes knowledge from opinion, assumption, or doubt?
How do we recognize common logical fallacies and errors in reasoning?
What role do intuition and the human fiṭrah play in acquiring knowledge?
By establishing a sound epistemological foundation, students will be equipped to approach theological questions with greater confidence, clarity, and intellectual discipline.
The Journey Ahead
Following the introductory module, the program will continue through a structured exploration of the central themes of Islamic theology, including:
Anthropology: the immaterial nature of the soul
Rational proofs for the existence of God
The Divine attributes
An overview of Islamic beliefs regarding the Qur’an
A deeper look at the position of Divine representatives, such as Prophets and Imāms
The hereafter (maʿād)
Each module builds upon the previous one, enabling students to develop a comprehensive, rational, and deeply rooted understanding of the Islamic worldview. Participants are welcome to continue through the full curriculum or join individual modules as they are offered.

Attendance and Homework: Learners are expected to attend all sessions punctually, participate actively in class and complete any assigned work by the instructor. Absences should occur only in the case of a genuine emergency, and in such situations, timely communication is expected.
