ALI 713: The Laws of Fasting (Ṣawm)

This online course offers a structured and practical study of the Islamic laws of fasting, delivered over two sessions. Participants will explore the definition and reality of fasting, with attention given to the intention (niyyah) and its details. The course will also cover the different types of fasts, acts that invalidate the fast, as well as the rulings related to qaḍāʾ, kaffārah, and the fasting of a traveler.

All rulings will be in accordance with the legal opinions of Āyatullāh Syed al-Sistani and Āyatullāh Syed al-Khamenei, with clarity provided where their views converge or differ.
