Tahajjud App

This App is an extension of the published pocket size book that the Academy for Learning Islam published in 2009. Despite its brevity, the app teaches us how to prepare ourselves to be able to comprehend its time, how to establish the nightly intimate communication with Allah, and finally under the section “FAQs on the Late Night Prayers” clears the ambiguities that we may encounter with regard to this fundamentally important prayer. One of the questions answered in this section, for example, is about the permissibility of praying qada’ of Tahajjud prayer. This reminds us of a very beautiful tradition in this regard. Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) is once asked by his companion about praying the qada’ of the night prayer before sunrise and after ‘Asr, and he responds saying: “Yes, perform theqada’, for indeed that is among the secrets of Progeny of Muhammad (peace be upon him and his progeny).”

One of the very useful features of this app, is that it consists of the important supplications before, during and after the Tahajjud prayer, as well as the program of recitals (a‘mal) after the prayer. These have come from the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and can have great effect in those who eagerly observe their recitation with attention and understanding. A place where such a companion can be of great use is during Hajj, when the call ofTahajjud Salat is heard an hour before Fajr prayer. This is the opportunity when the human being, having left his world, and come to the House of the Beloved, treasures every moment of intimacy and seclusion. But the advantage of this prayer, we must bear in mind, is not only for the Hereafter. It facilitates prosperity both in this world and the Hereafter.

Some of the features of the app include:

  • Listen to Mp3 for the Du’as by Sh. Usama Al-Atar while you navigate thru the various sections
  • Counter feature in Salat Witr – Keep track of how far you are in the Tasbih
  • Record names of Believers for Salat Witr
  • Shorter Method section if you are pressed for time.

How to use the Tahajjud App

The Tahajjud App is an interactive app that allows you to perform the Tahajjud Salat with all the resources. The App has been arranged in a chronological manner, so start from the beginning till the end. There is also a shorter method in case you are limited in time to perform the Tahajjud Salat.

One of the features in this app contains the ability to keep track of the various times you will have to repeat the Du’a or Dhizr. This is found in the Salat Witr section. You will notice a counter icon. Simply tap on it and you can click on the + or – icons to go up and down. You can reset it as well after you are done.

Names of Believers

We are recommended to name the believers in our Salat of Witr. This app allows you to store the names so you can view it while you are in the Qunut. You will find in this in the Salat Witr section. Click on the Notebook icon (last one) at the bottom and you will be able to add the names.
